Richwood knocks Flyers out of 3A playoffs

The 2009-10 Loyola boys basketball season came to an end Friday night as the Flyers were defeated by Richwood 103-65 in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs in Monroe.

The defending state champions were just too much for the Flyers as the Rams made 13 of 25 3-pointers and forced 23 Loyola turnovers. Richwood was the No. 7 seed and the Flyers were seeded No. 26.

It's the most points Loyola has allowed this season.

The Flyers, making their third straight playoff appearance but first in Class 3A, were led by Trevino Martin's 19 points. Justin Harris added 16 and senior Tyrone Baker had 12.

Senior Lavar Washington had 12 rebounds in his final game as a Flyer. Haris and Martin had seven each and senior Spencer Huffman had six.

The Flyers finished 16-20 overall.
