The leading kick-scorer in the history of Division I football is a former Flyer. If you think that's amazing, consider that he had zero scholarship offers after leaving Loyola and that his collegiate career began as a walk-on.

Arthur Carmody, who had a stellar career at the University of Louisville, owns the record of 433 kicking points in college football, breaking the record set in 1991. His is also the third-leading scorer (regardless of position) in Division I history.
He is also the 2006 winner of the prestigious Lou Groza Award, given to college football's best kicker.
In his career with the Cardinals, Carmody had 253 extra points (also an NCAA record) and made 60 of 73 field goals.
In his final collegiate game, he kicked a 33-yard game-winner with 20 seconds to play to beat Rutgers.
He was 77-for-77 on extra points in 2004, setting the marking for most PATs made in a perfect season.
At Loyola, Carmody is the second-leading kicker scorer in school history.
He made 18 field goals for the Flyers and was 64-67 on extra points during his career from 1999-2002.
He is the only Flyer to kick three field goals in a single game. |
