Flyers win playoff opener

The Loyola boys soccer team fell behind early, but quickly rallied to come away with a 3-1 win over East Jefferson Saturday at Calvary in a first round playoff game.

The Flyers will advance to the regional round to play No. 1-seeded St. Louis (Lake Charles) Wednesday at 6 p.m. The game will be played at McNeese State University.

After East Jefferson took the early lead, senior midfielder Jake Chiasson scored his first goal of the season to tie it at the 15-minute mark.

Michael Connor took it from there, scoring the next two goals and putting the game away for the Flyers.
