2007-2008 Syllabus
Course Description - Students will organize, produce, and
direct audio and video presentations, both as group and individual
projects. Formats will resemble
television, and web presentations. The
focus of the course will be on the students ability to manage both individual
and group projects from inception to presentation. Students will act as directors, actors
(talent), camerapersons, sound directors, and editors.
Course Objective - Work effectively on group and individual
projects.
Create original audio and video presentations.
Learn
and apply a variety of audio and video production techniques.
Requirements - Learn and develop audio and video production skills.
Develop
group and individual presentations.
Turn
in required paperwork for each project.
Work
effectively as project directors and group members.
Grades - Required paperwork for each assignment.
Paperwork
must follow all assignment guidelines.
Participation during class activities.
Ability to perform assigned roles during individual and group
projects.
Class evaluation of individual and group projects.
Tests
over material (vocabulary and concepts)
Events each student is required to
cover 4 events per quarter by obtaining video or still pictures
Article Quizzes Articles will be
assigned in class from the Videomaker web site. Articles will be posted on the class web
page.

Required Materials - $20 fee The fee will be used to purchase blank Digital
8 & MiniDV video tapes to be used for class and
individual projects. At the end of the
year, each MMP student will receive a DVD which will include original material
produced by both MMP classes.
The
class will use Videomaker magazine and the Videomaker web site (www.videomaker.com)
for required reading.
Students
should check the MMP web page daily for assignments and article information.
