Bobby Gilliam

Head Coach

After serving as an assistant for the 2007 season, Bobby Gilliam was named as head baseball coach in May, 2007. Gilliam, a two-time All-State player during his career in the late 1990s, Gilliam continues a tradition of former players becoming head baseball coach -- a former Flyer player has been the head coach for 23 of the last 25 seasons. As a player, he was part of Flyer teams that were 68-24 and reached the state semifinals in 1998 and state finals in 1999. As a pitcher, Gilliam was an amazing 26-5 with a 1.74 ERA. As a hitter, he is ranked in nearly every offensive category in the school record book, batting .383 in three years as a starter. Gilliam was also a four-year starter at Centenary College and played professional baseball, most recently in 2006 in the Frontier League (Independent).

Kevin Pickens

Assistant Coach


1st year

Pickens played four years at Louisiana Tech and was drafted in the 12th round by the Kansas City Royals in 1987. He played minor league baseball for three years, reaching the Class AA level. He is a graduate of Captain Shreve where he led the Gators to the Class 4A playoffs in 1982 and 1983. He was two-time All-District and  All-City selection.


Aaron Cunningham

Assistant Coach

1st year

Cunningham has pitched professionally for the Shreveport Sports of the American Association. In 2007, he was 3-0 with a  3.13 ERA. He is a native of The Woodlands, Texas.
