LAST GAME: The Flyers beat Northwood 14-0 to close the regular season. Jordan Smith, Taylor Barham and Maggie Adams each had three goals. Goalies Caroline Turnage and Olivia Moore contributed to the shutout.

PLAYOFFS: The Flyers will travel to Monroe Friday to meet Neville, the champion of District 2, in the opening round of the Division II playoffs. Game time is 5 p.m.

ON THE LINE: The winner of the Loyola-Neville game will advance to play the winner of DeRidder-Opelousas game in the quarterfinals. If the Flyers win and play DeRidder, that game will be at home.

LEADERS: Jordan Smith (right) leads the Flyers with 30 goals and finished the regular season as the city leader. Savannah Stauffer has 18 goals and 19 assists, and leads the city in assists. Maggie Adams is also ranked with 14 goals

STREAKING: Flyers have now won nine straight games and have not lost in 2008.

RANKING: Flyers are ranked No. 7 in the latest Division II state poll.

DISTRICT: Loyola finished as the co-champion of the district (with Parkway) with a record of 11-1. Parkway will be the top seed from the district in the playoffs based on the tie-breaker.

OVERALL: Loyola is 14-7 overall with four losses coming to teams in Division I.


LAST GAME: The Flyers beat Parkway 3-2 last Thursday at Tinsley Park. The Flyers had games against Southwood and Haughton cancelled this week.

NEXT GAME: The Flyers will meet Neville Friday at 7 p.m. in Monroe in the opening round of the Division II playoffs. Game time is 7 p.m.

LEADERS: Chad Smith has 15 goals and Michael Connor has 14 goals to lead the Flyers. Collin Bantle (right) leads the team in assists with 13.
