Ways to Give
Your gift impacts the lives of Loyola students every day. Gifts from you – our alumni, parents, families, and friends – are the foundation of the school’s continued success. Your gift to Loyola provides much-needed financial assistance to ensure that access to a Jesuit education is available to all eligible students. Gifts also support many valuable programs on campus that make a Loyola College Prep experience unique.
There are many opportunities for supporting Loyola and many ways to give. Please search below for the one that fits you best. If you would like to donate to something that you do not see below, please contact Melanie Johnson, Advancement Director, at (318) 226-6285 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The most direct and easiest way to provide immediate support for Loyola is to make a gift by cash, check or credit card.
You might find that monthly, quarterly or other scheduled payments are more convenient. By making a series of pledge payments, you may be able to increase the amount of your total gift to Loyola.
Gifts of Securities
Appreciated securities are a gift of stocks or bonds that are (or will be) readily available. The deduction for outright gifts of appreciated long-term publicly traded securities (held more than 12 months) is equal to the fair market value of the securities on the date you relinquish control of the assets to Loyola College Prep. None of the appreciation is taxable for capital gains purposes. Please note: Do not sell the stock; you must transfer the securities to the School or campaign to receive the most advantageous tax treatment.
Gifts of stock of a private corporation receive slightly different treatment. You may avoid capital gains on appreciation of closely held stock while attaining a tax deduction on the stock's fair market value. As with publicly traded stock, you may obtain an immediate tax deduction of up to 30% of adjusted gross income. If the gift amount exceeds 30% of adjusted gross income, the remainder of the deduction generally can be carried over for up to five years.
Proceeds from the sale of these assets may be directed to any fund or program you wish. For security transfer information contact Melanie Johnson, Advancement Director, at (318) 226-6285 or email@example.com
Company Matching Gifts
Current and retired employees may be eligible for the matching gift program offered by their employer. Matching gift programs allow you to double, and in some cases triple, your gift to Loyola. Please complete your portion of the company’s matching gift form and email it as an attachment (Word or PDF) to firstname.lastname@example.org or mail it to Loyola College Prep, Advancement Office, 921 Jordan St., Shreveport, La. 71101.
Planned gifts and endowed scholarships are excellent ways to support Loyola now or in the future, while also helping you take care of your heirs. There are many types of planned gifts available depending on your personal situation. Please contact us for more information.
In-kind donations are donations of tangible items or equipment. Please contact the Advancement Office for more information.
Gifts in Memory and Gifts in Honor
Friends and families are invited to make gifts in honor or in memory of a relative, loved one, friend, or business associate. Your donation will be applied to the annual fund or the general scholarship fund.
