Get Involved

Throughout the year a variety of events are held for alumni to reconnect, get involved, and celebrate with Loyola College Prep of today.

Flyer Golf Classic

The Flyer Golf Classic celebrated 26 years in 2016 and is held each June at East Ridge Country Club. Alumni from various decades come together for a great day of golf, food and beverages at one of Shreveport’s finest golf courses.

Career Day

Career Day is held every other year to welcome back alumni to speak to current students about various careers of interest.

Open House

Held each November, Open House is an opportunity for alumni to volunteer in a school-wide effort to bring in new students to Loyola College Prep.

The annual BBQ celebrated its 90th year in 2016 and is held each October in St. Vincent’s Hall on the Loyola campus. The traditional event is known as the oldest fundraiser in the Shreveport-Bossier City area.

Class Reunions

Reunions are held each summer and fall, often in conjunction with homecoming. A typical “reunion weekend” includes a gathering at the homecoming football game, a tour of Loyola College Prep on Saturday followed by an evening event at the home of an alumni or local restaurant. The weekend is often capped off with Mass and breakfast or lunch on Sunday.

Homecoming Tailgate Party

The Flyer Alumni Association started a new tradition in 2016 by hosting a pregame tailgate party prior to the annual homecoming football game. Close to 100 alumni from St. John’s, Jesuit, St. Vincent’s Academy and Loyola gather for food and fun. Various groups also hold class reunions joining together to tailgate, celebrate and tour the Loyola campus.

The Snoopy Shootout Sporting Clay Tournament

The Snoopy Shootout is one of the newest events and is held each spring at the Shreveport Gun Club. Five-person teams and individuals are invited to compete.

The Snoopy Open Tennis Tournament

The Snoopy Open has quickly become one of the area’s most popular tennis tournaments and is held in the fall at East Ridge Country Club.
