After 22 years of coaching girls volleyball, Coach Laura Woolbert is passing on the head coach title to La’Coria Tademy. Coach Tademy joined Loyola College Prep as the assistant volleyball coach during the 2021-22 school year. She has a wealth of experience in the sport, playing in high school for Evangel, Central Baptist College, and coaching club volleyball in Little Rock, Houston and Shreveport.
“I have learned so much from Laura over the last two years, and I am so excited to take over as head coach as she retires from the sport. We have an amazing group of girls and Laura has built such a strong program here at Loyola.”
Volleyball started over 25 years ago at Loyola, and soon after Coach Woolbert was handed the head coaching position. She grew the team from just a few varsity players to now a Freshman, JV and Varsity teams with over 50 student athletes.
"I have thoroughly enjoyed my tenure as head volleyball coach,” Coach Woolbert said. “Over the past 22 years I have seen many players graduate and move on to college and their chosen professions. It has been a privilege to be a part of their journey. It’s time for me to take a step back and devote more time to my family. I knew this day would come and I know Loyola Volleyball is in great hands with La'Coria Tademy at the helm."
Don’t worry, Coach Woolbert isn’t leaving Loyola just yet. She is just stepping away from the volleyball coaching position, and will continue to teach at Loyola.
