Student Government


Mission statement: The mission of the Student Government Association (SGA) is to provide leadership opportunities for students, to organize and carry out activities to benefit the student body, faculty and staff of Loyola College Prep and to be of service to the school and community.

Meeting Days/Times:

SGA meets every other Thursday during the 1st half of lunch in the gym.

Requirements for Membership:

  • 2.5 cumulative GPA
  • Pass in faculty screening
  • At least 7 participation points by helping with SGA events or doing community service (May not miss any more than 2 meetings during a semester.).

How to Join:

Fill out an application form in May to be a member for the following school year. Turn in all forms and dues on time. Only members in good standing from the previous year will be eligible to run for a class or executive office for the coming year.

2019-20 SGA Officers

LASC Convention 

Eight SGA members attended the Louisiana Association of Student Councils (LASC) convention during the weekend of January 18-20 at Pineville High School.  Loyola's SGA was recognized as a Gold Honor Council and Grace Harvey was elected as the Vice President of District IX, succeeding Mary Cecile Hancock in the position.  Pictured at the convention are:  Front row l. to r.
